About the Client
Dr.Max is the second largest pharmacy chain in Europe, operating in 8 countries. It sells more than 1,300,000 products every day. They are dedicated to improving healthcare by ensuring access to a wide range of medicines and services.

The Challenge
Dr.Max faced the challenge of replacing its current dynamic pricing solution, which lacked the ability to take into account key factors such as competitor pricing, market share and product characteristics. A major technical hurdle was low price volatility - historically only a few price points per product have been observed. As a result, traditional models tend to undervalue price as a key factor and struggle with predictions for untested price points. As a result, they may exhibit non-monotonicity problems or incorrectly assume constant demand even at higher prices, making accurate pricing decisions difficult.

The Solution
Our solution leverages advanced machine learning to integrate key factors such as market dynamics and competitor pricing, enabling a more effective and data-driven pricing strategy. The Dynamic Pricing Engine is built on the Databricks data platform and hosted in Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance.
